Windshield Wiper Blades

Windshield wipers are, of course, an important safety system of your vehicle because they help ensure clear vision of the road even under adverse weather conditions. As wiper blades are made of rubber, they deteriorate over time, particularly from sunlight and from heavy use in clearing rain, debris, ice and snow.

Wiper blades should be inspected regularly and replaced when necessary. Depending on the weather conditions in your area, changing wiper blades in the spring and fall, or perhaps seasonally may provide you optimum visibility.

Warning Signs

• Chattering or squeaking sound
• Banding or streaking on the windshield
• Beading or fine water drops appearing on the windshield
• The rubber on the blades appears cracked or split
• The rubber is hard or "park set"
• A bent or damaged wiper frame
• Wear indicator(s) turning to yellow from black
